Treatment of damaged hair - 4 repair oils

Many women and men suffer from hair loss and damaged hair. Damaged hair and its damage are usually caused by weather changes, the use of chemicals, hair coloring, and the use of styling equipment such as a hair dryer and curler. The above factors also make the hair unpolished and weak, which is usually an aesthetic affliction, but in some cases a sign of health problems. Damaged hair can also be treated with natural products, and in this article we present four oils that help give damaged hair their shine back.

Damaged hair and its treatment with oils

The most common oils used to repair damaged hair are:

  • Argan oil
  • Coconut oil
  • Olive oil
  • Almond oil

The aforementioned oils give the hair shine and make it vibrant. The oils also repair bifurcated hair follicles.

1. Argan oil

Argan oil is called “Moroccan liquid gold” because it is rich in vitamin E as well as Omega-3, -6-, and -9 fatty acids. Due to its nutritious properties, it is a useful addition to hair care.

Do this:

  • Put a few drops of argan oil on your palm and rub it on the tops of damaged hair – this will take care of the tops and increase the elasticity of your hair and make them stronger.
  • Add oil to the hair roots and leave on for 25 minutes. Then rinse your hair as usual. The treatment invigorates and cares for the hair.

2. Coconut oil

Coconut oil for the treatment of damaged hair.

Just a few drops of coconut oil are enough to add shine to your hair, making them healthier, more moisturized and dandruff-free. We recommend using virgin coconut oil, which nourishes the hair from the roots to the top.

Do this:

  • Put a few tablespoons of coconut oil in a tight, covered container and then immerse it in hot water to warm the oil. Add the warm oil evenly throughout your scalp and cover with a shower cap for 20 minutes. Wash as usual using plenty of shampoo and conditioner.

3. Olive oil

This is one of the most widely used natural cosmetic oils due to its high vitamin E content, which makes hair grow strong and healthy. It also has rejuvenating properties that promote hair growth and shine. Olive oil also reduces hair roughness.

Do this:

  • Rub the hair with virgin olive oil from the roots to the tops and cover with a hot towel for 5 minutes. Then wash normally and repeat the treatment every 15 days. This treatment is ideal for colored hair and hair that is constantly exposed to a hair dryer and curler.
  • Make a mixture of four tablespoons of olive oil and beaten egg. Apply all over the hair and leave on for 15 minutes, then rinse with warm water. Repeat once a week.
  • Revitalizing hair mask. Mix three tablespoons of olive oil with the honey. Allow to settle for 24 hours and then add to clean and damp hair, and leave on for 15 minutes. Rinse again with water.

4. Almond oil

Damaged hair gets healing oil from almonds.

Damaged hair  easily gets volume with this treatment using almond oil.  Also look for masks, shampoos and other care products containing almond oil, as adding almond oil directly to the scalp will easily make the hair oily, and this is therefore not recommended.

Do this:

  • Use fresh almond oil only on the tops, rubbing it gently until the oil is absorbed into the hair. Dampen the towel with as hot water as you can tolerate, and wrap the towel in your hair for 5 minutes. Then wash your hair twice to remove any residual oil.
